Md. Belal Hossen is a Lecturer in Bangladesh Studies at Jamalpur Science and Technology University. He completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Government and Politics from Jahangirnagar University.
His academic work is centered on economic diplomacy, international trade and security, local governance and development, and migration and refugee studies. He is a co-author of the book Economic Diplomacy: Reshaping Bangladesh–Latin American Diplomatic Relations, published by Springer Nature, which was developed from his Master’s thesis under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohammad Tarikul Islam. The publication of a scholarly monograph in Springer Nature based on a Master’s thesis is a rare academic achievement, underscoring the originality and quality of the research.
He has also participated in numerous academic workshops and seminars and previously served as a Research Intern at the Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement (NIICE).
Alongside his academic pursuits, Belal Hossen has extensive experience in professional journalism. He worked as a Staff Correspondent at The Business Standard and has been associated with several leading national dailies for over six years. His work includes reporting, investigative journalism, feature writing, and content development. During his university years, he served as President of the Jahangirnagar University Journalists’ Association and as Executive Editor of the student-run journal Poriborto.
