The Department of Management: An Introduction

Jamalpur Science & Technology University (JSTU), established on 28 November 2017, is the 44th public university in Bangladesh. Located in the Jamalpur district, JSTU is committed to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and sustainable societal impact. The Department of Management, as the pioneering department of business faculty of this universityplays a key role in advancing the university's vision & mission. The Department of Management was established in 3^rdMarch, 2019 with the aim of creating resilient& Sustainable business leaders and entrepreneurs for economic emancipation of the nation throughdelivering high-quality business education and fostering leadership skills and entrepreneurial excellence among students. Currently, the Department offers two academic programs:A four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program, andA one-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, both structured under the latest curriculum designed to meet contemporary industry and academic standards.The Department is staffed by six full-time faculty members, comprising five Assistant Professors and one Lecturer, one computer operator and one office Assistant,who are dedicated to providing students with a rigorous and dynamic learning experience.As of now, approximately 250 students are enrolled in the Department, with around 230 students pursuing the BBA program and the remainder enrolled in the MBA program.To support students' academic endeavors, the Department maintains a seminar library housing a curated collection of numbers of academicbooks in the fields of management, business administration, and related disciplines.In addition, the Department is in the process of establishing a state-of-the-art computer laboratory, which will provide students with essential digital skills, including research proficiency, database management,and exposure to a range of information technology infrastructure and services.The Department of Management is committed to nurturing academically proficient, ethically grounded, and globallycapable business professionals who can contribute effectively to an ever -evolving and interconnected world.
